Designed with all the feedback from the OG Simple Dial a Boost, V2 is still a Simple boost controller but with all the features requested and I desired in my own boost control for my latest build. This boost controller defaults to a boost/vacuum gauge and is intended to replace a boost gauge and designed to fit anywhere you would normally put a boost gauge or oil pressure gauge. The knob has been upgraded to a rotary design with a integrated push button for selecting the menu items.
OPEN LOOP DUTY CYCLE – This boost controller is still a open loop duty cycle style boost controller like the OG Simple Dial a Boost. You can increase/decrease the open loop duty cycle of the boost controller to increase/decrease your boost. This boost controller -REQUIRES- the use of a map sensor. You can tie it into your own map sensor, which is how I have mine done, or you can add a separate map sensor for the controller. There are several map sensor options pre-programmed into the unit which are the Twisted Builds 3 Bar Map, Low-Dollar Motorsports/Rife 3 bar map sensors, Low-Dollar Motorsports/Rife 4 bar map sensors, and also a custom sensor input to make the boost controller as universal as possible. With the map sensor input, the controller is hard coded for a 2 psi boost activation point – this eliminates the need for a hobs switch like the OG unit to extend the life of the boost solenoid. Once 2 psi of boost is achieved, the controller starts duty cycling the boost solenoid to your desired duty cycle.
SCRAMBLE BOOST – Its a feature I absolutely wanted in my personal V2 Simple Dial a Boost controller I have in my vehicle so obviously we incorporated that feature. Once you’ve used it in a vehicle once you’ll never go back and this controller has it. So how it works is for example, lets say you have the main duty cycle commanding 30%. You would set the scramble boost duty cycle higher, say 40%. So whatever your setup makes on 30% it’ll do that once you get to at least 2 psi of boost, then when you hit the scramble button, and the duty cycle increases to the 40%, increasing your boost while on the scramble button. Once off the button, it goes back to 30% duty cycle until boost drops back down below 2 psi, of which it shuts off the boost solenoid.
BOOST CUT – We have a map sensor input for more than just the gauge reading and triggering the boost solenoid! The controller is built with a boost cut feature. You have a new setup and not sure what its going to take in regards to duty cycle to achieve your desired boost, but don’t want to over boost your setup trying to find out? Set this boost cut to your maximum desired boost and if the controller sees that level of boost, it’ll turn off the boost solenoid and revert back to wastegate pressure until the controller is reset (by pressing in the knob button). It also changes the “PSI” to “BOOST CUT” to let you know you hit boost cut.
OPTIONS AVAILABLE – We have three kit options available. First is the Full kit shipped to your door in the USA: this will include the simple dial a boost controller, 8′ flying leads for power, ground and scramble, and 14′ leads for map sensor and boost solenoid wiring. This should be more than enough to wire this into your vehicle and have a little left over, which is better than not having enough. 44ft of 1/8″ sleeving that is pre-cut into two 14′ and two 8′ sections that you’ll cut to fit your application and heat shrink in place. Plan is being able to individually sleeve the wiring for the map sensor, boost solenoid power/ground, or sleeve it all together and branch out, etc. Full kit includes a 3 bar map sensor, 10ft total of 3/16″ of hose for hooking up the 3 port boost solenoid and map sensors, and the boost solenoid. Essentially, everything you need to get this kit in the vehicle and controlling boost. You will have to provide your own 2 wire switch for scramble feature if desired.
Next option is the V2 Simple Dial a Boost kit, without a MAP sensor shipped to your door in the USA: this will include the simple dial a boost controller, 8′ flying leads for power, ground and scramble, and 14′ leads for map sensor and boost solenoid wiring. This kit includes 10ft total of 3/16″ of hose for hooking up the 3 port boost solenoid and your provided map sensor (unless tying wiring into already existing map sensor), and the boost solenoid. You will have to provide your own 2 wire switch for scramble feature if desired, and a Map or Pressure sensor.
Final option is just the V2 Simple Dial a Boost controller only shipped to your door in the USA: this will include the simple dial a boost controller, 8′ flying leads for power, ground and scramble, and 14′ leads for map sensor and boost solenoid wiring. This should be more than enough to wire this into your vehicle and have a little left over, which is better than not having enough. 44ft of 1/8″ sleeving that is pre-cut into two 14′ and two 8′ sections that you’ll cut to fit your application and heat shrink in place.
